CBA is launching the Expanding Credit Building Program with support from the Wells Fargo Foundation. This program has two strategies:
1) Supporting a Minneapolis area organization to lead a city-wide initiative to help residents build stronger credit. The selected nonprofit will receive a $20,000 subgrant and support to launch an in-person community builds credit event.
2) Increasing financial opportunities for nonprofit lenders to expand their low-cost credit building loans for credit invisible and low credit individuals. Selected nonprofit lenders will receive:
$80,000 of 0% interest lending capital to provide secured credit builder loans
A $10,000 grant to support staff, technology, and cover interest/origination costs so loans remain fee-free for consumers

Individualized technical assistance
2026 Credit Building Summit Scholarship and Travel Stipend

CBA is implementing new technology to streamline how Block Notifications are delivered when consumers claim fraudulent information was reported. Going forward, designated dispute contacts at Reporter organizations will begin receiving these notifications directly by email.
Our Credit Reporting team is here to support you in reviewing and responding to inaccurate blocks and in navigating the next steps required under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).
With support from the Rocket Community Fund, CBA is launching a cohort for housing providers to set up or grow a positive-only rent reporting for credit building program in greater Detroit, Flint, or Pontiac (MI) and Cincinnati, Cleveland, or Toledo (OH). The cohort will run JanuaryāAugust 2026 and feature the following benefits:
